The
Authors of When Your Body Gets The Blues
Marie-Annette
Brown, R.N., Ph.D.
Marie-Annette
Brown, Ph.D., a professor in the School of Nursing at the University
of Washington, is a specialist in women's health care and adult
mental health. She is involved in research, teaching, and clinical
practice.
Dr. Brown
has lectured widely and published over 60 scientific papers. She
is nationally certified as a family and psychiatric/mental health
nurse practitioner and provides primary care at the University
of Washington Medical Center Women's Health Care Clinic.
She has received
numerous awards, including the Achievement in Research Award,
the Excellence in Teaching Award, and the Nurse Practitioner of
the Year Award.
Dr. Brown's
training as both a researcher and nurse practitioner made her
the ideal person to develop the LEVITY program and write this
book. Nurse practitioners are trained to look at all aspects of
their patients' lives, not just their physical symptoms. They
also place a strong emphasis on educating their patients about
their health problems and, whenever possible, helping them relieve
their symptoms through lifestyle change. In When Your Body
Gets the Blues, Dr. Brown extends her clinical and research
expertise to a much broader audience.
Jo
Robinson
Jo Robinson
is a New York Times best-selling author who specializes
in books on mental health and nutrition. In recent years, she
has devoted her efforts to searching through the medical literature
for clinically proven therapies that have been overlooked by mainstream
medicine. Her research identified the three activities that comprise
the LEVITY Program.
Robinson
is the co-author/writer of ten popular books, including Unplug
the Christmas Machine, Hot Monogamy, The Omega Diet, Getting The
Love You Want, The Emotional Incest Syndrome, and Melatonin.
More than 2,050,000 copies of her books have been sold.
Robinson
lives on Vashon Island in Washington State.
